SUMMARY:Run to Lamington National Park
DESCRIPTION:EXCURSION TO LAMINGTON NATIONAL PARK\nSaturday 1 November 2025\nPOSTPONED:  NOW ON 22 NOVEMBER 2025\n  \nMeet at Mobil 7-Eleven Petrol Station in Price Street Nerang at 8.30. \nContinue along the Beaudesert Nerang Road and the Nerang Murwillumbah Road to the Hinze Dam. \nMorning tea can be enjoyed at the View Cafe at the Hinze Dam. \nContinue along the Nerang Murwillumbah Road and after crossing the Pine Creek Bridge turn left into Pine Creek Road towards Springbrook. Pine Creek Road becomes Springbrook Road. \nLunch can be had at The Sitting Room Cafe\, 8 Canyon Parade. Phone 04 276 828 56. \nAfter walking or driving to the Purling Brook Falls carpark\, continue along Springbrook Road to its end to view the Bilborough Falls and the Gold Coast Lookout. \nReturn along Springbrook Road and turn left into Repeater Station Road to the Best Of All Lookout. \nYou will be on the New South Wales/Queensland border. \nReturn to Springbrook Road along Repeater Station Road but take the left fork into Lyrebird Ridge Road. \nStop at The Fudge Shop for coffee and fudge and enjoy the serenity of the grounds behind the shop before returning along Springbrook Road to the intersection with the Gold Coast Springbrook Road and drive to Mudgeeraba and the Pacific Highway to return home. \nAlternatively retrace your drive to Nerang to return home. \nPlease Note: \nThis portion of Lamington National Park at Springbrook has many features of the park generally and can be enjoyed on this planned excursion although longer walks may not be possible through time restraints. Drives suggested on this excursion at Springbrook itself are short but provide varied scenery of the National Park including areas providing for grazing. \nThe drive from particularly the Hinze Dam to Springbrook provides sweeping curves and gentle gradients conducive to a heightened enjoyment through our marque of cars.

DESCRIPTION:EXCURSION TO Mt Alford\n15th November 2025\n\nMeet at Mobil 7-Eleven Petrol Station in Price Street Nerang at 10.15.\nContinue along the Beaudesert Nerang Road and turn right onto Mount Nathan Rd at the traffic lights.\nContinue driving to Canungra along the Beaudesert Nerang Rd\, where several options are available for morning tea if decided\, or the drive could continue until Beaudesert for refreshments.\nContinue along the Beaudesert Nerang Rd passing through Wonglepong and Boyland until the Beaudesert Beenleigh Rd.\nTurn left onto the Beaudesert Beenleigh Rd and continue driving until Beaudesert.\nAn optional morning tea stop may be made at Beaudesert in lieu of the earlier stop at Canungra for refreshments.\nHead towards Boonah on the Beaudesert Boonah Rd passing through Bromelton after passing the Beaudesert Racetrack on your left but before passing the Wyaralong Dam on your right.\nContinue to Boonah for lunch.\nDrive to Mount Alford on the Boonah Rathdowney Rd and after passing through Dugandan\, turn right on the Mt Alford Rd passing through Bunjurgen and on to Mt Alford.\nThe concert of approximately 1 (one) hour is being performed in the School of Arts building\, established in 1907\, in Reckumpilla St.\, Mt Alford.\nTickets are $35.00 each and may be purchased at the door or online before the concert.\nFor any online ticket purchases\, contact  the organiser (listed below)\, including your email address\, You will then receive the program of the Southern Cross Soloists with the online booking facility attached.\nBeing an approximate 5.00pm conclusion of the concert allows a daylight return drive to Nerang with the sun behind you\, if that’s your preference\, or alternately allow a night’s stay at Boonah after dining at a choice of several options in Boonah.

DESCRIPTION:POKER RUN\nBeerburrum to Lake Wivenhoe\nMeet\, greet and explain poker\, cards and chips.\nA participant from each vehicle will be given a stake of funny money\, gambling chips.\nAt various stops along the way a light-hearted game of poker will be played with representatives from each car.\nThe game is played and the winner of each hand wins a chance to draw a card at the end of the day to win the day’s participation prize.\nAt various stops along the way a light-hearted game of poker will be played with representatives from each car.\nThe game is played and the winner of each hand wins a chance to draw a card at the end of the day to win the day’s participation prize.\nLocations and Times\n1st Location:       9.30am for 10.10 start: Beerburrum Park.\nFrom Brisbane\, head north on Bruce Highway and Take Steve Irwin Way (Exit 163). Travel 5km and turn left into Beerburrum Road Park is 400 m from Café Phillies on Beerburrum. The Café knows that we are coming\, so drop in for a bite before the first game.\nPoker Games 1 & 2.\n2nd Location:     11.00am Peachester via Old Gympie\nRoad (23km & 22 min). Find the park across the road from the Peachester General Store.\nPoker Games 3 & 4 start at 11.15am.\n3rd Location:       1.00pm. Toogoolawah via Kilcoy.\nLions Park\, Cressbrook Street . 73km & 60 min.\nToogoolawah\nBYO picnic lunch or the Exchange Hotel is close by.\nPoker Games 5 & 6 at 1.30pm.\n4th Location:        2.30pm Cormorant Bay Recreational Reserve on Lake Wivenhoe.\nFollow A17 to Cormorant Bay. Turn off is on the left just after the road travels across the Wivenhoe Dam Wall. (51km & 35min)\nPokerGames 7 & 8 at 2.45pm.\nFollowing game 8\, players will tally their poker chips then a prize presentation will occur. The concept is to increase your kitty during the day and the player with the most chips in their kitty wins the chance to pick a prize.
