EXCURSION TO LAMINGTON NATIONAL PARK

Meet at Mobil 7-Eleven Petrol Station in Price Street Nerang at 8.30.

Continue along the Beaudesert Nerang Road and the Nerang Murwillumbah Road to the Hinze Dam.

Morning tea can be enjoyed at the View Cafe at the Hinze Dam.

Continue along the Nerang Murwillumbah Road and after crossing the Pine Creek Bridge turn left into Pine Creek Road towards Springbrook. Pine Creek Road becomes Springbrook Road.

Lunch can be had at The Sitting Room Cafe, 8 Canyon Parade. Phone 04 276 828 56.

After walking or driving to the Purling Brook Falls carpark, continue along Springbrook Road to its end to view the Bilborough Falls and the Gold Coast Lookout.

Return along Springbrook Road and turn left into Repeater Station Road to the Best Of All Lookout.

You will be on the New South Wales/Queensland border.

Return to Springbrook Road along Repeater Station Road but take the left fork into Lyrebird Ridge Road.

Stop at The Fudge Shop for coffee and fudge and enjoy the serenity of the grounds behind the shop before returning along Springbrook Road to the intersection with the Gold Coast Springbrook Road and drive to Mudgeeraba and the Pacific Highway to return home.

Alternatively retrace your drive to Nerang to return home.

Please Note:

This portion of Lamington National Park at Springbrook has many features of the park generally and can be enjoyed on this planned excursion although longer walks may not be possible through time restraints. Drives suggested on this excursion at Springbrook itself are short but provide varied scenery of the National Park including areas providing for grazing.

The drive from particularly the Hinze Dam to Springbrook provides sweeping curves and gentle gradients conducive to a heightened enjoyment through our marque of cars.
