“Harriet” – 1963 Citroën ID19
This car was originally advertised by Stephen Todd who sadly passed away on 11th April 2021. His executor, Sheridan Todd can now handle enquiries etc.
I had always admired the shape and style of the Citroen DS/ID model since seeing ‘The Samurai’ starring Alain Delon so when the opportunity to acquire one in 2014 I bought Harriet for $17,000.
I’ve spent about $6000 on it since, ceiling, seat belts and rehabilitation work by Ferris at (Quattromotive 07 3266 2228), but unfortunately my declining health has necessitated its sale.
It hasn’t been driven for about 3 years but been garaged at home in Springbrook. Without power steering it is a bit of a handful in the city, but is a joy to drive on the open road. It is a head turner – people stop and stare and small boys gape in wonder at the oleo-pnuematic suspension.
Ferris is happy for people to check it out – he has all of the invoices and will answer any questions concerning the car, but please ring him first.
The only thing it needs for roadworthiness is the switch that controls the rear indicators and I’m selling it for $20,000 ono. So if you’re ready for some gallic elegance, here’s your chance. .
