Citroen Light 15 [BL11] Right Hand Drive

1949 Resto mod with 6300km since complete restoration over 5 years.

Inspection invited & expected!

This unique totally rust free classic TA has been meticulously rebuilt by a master tradesman to be the ultimate air-conditioned daily driver, in today’s motorway or freeway traffic, just around the countryside or down to the local supermarket.
No expense has been spared inside & out.
Currently comprehensively insured with Shannons for $53000 which is less than the build cost.

This vehicle is a wonderful ‘air conditioned’ daily driver on full registration.
It was extensively reworked as outlined below & is currently fully engineered & blue plated in Australia.

Full documentation.

Never rusty & originally from the dry NSW central west.
The term ASTRA applies to AH model Holden in Australia, Vauxhall in the UK, Opel in Europe & Saturn in the US.

1. Power:
Rebuilt Renault 807-11 [Lotus Europa] with
Rebuilt 4 speed transmission 336-52 & a new clutch group.
Electric fuel pump & brand new Weber carburettor with electric choke.
Davies Craig electric water pump, hi volume Davies Craig electric Thermatic sucker fan + additional AC condenser blower fan.
Cooling is via a PWR [very expensive] custom built aluminium radiator.

2. Drive, Brakes, Wheels, Steering & Suspension:
Modified Subaru drive 1/ 2 shafts with absolutely no oil leaks from the transmission oil seals.
4 speed floor change [reverse pattern].
New cupro nickel brake piping & all new flex hoses.
All brakes are ASTRA [new ventilated discs & pads up front].
450psi input and 1470 psi output hydrovac up front & 450 psi input and 820 output hydrovac down back both using engine boosted vacuum + added vacuum pump.
Dual master cylinder for safety & the wheels look appropriate being from an ASTRA fitted with new Falken 195x65x15″ tyres during restoration.
Steering is a TS model ASTRA electric pump on a Camira/ Daewoo rack with new tie rod ends to the original Citroen swivel housing arms.
Precision manufactured adapters bolt to these swivels & mount the ASTRA hubs, Calipers & disc rotors.

The standard front & rear Citroen vehicle’s torsion bar suspension is used & a new stainless steel manufactured rear axle assembly incorporating brackets for the ASTRA disc brake callipers.
Universal rear hubs, fitted with standard size wheel bearings, having the correct PCD for the Astra wheels being used.
An electric EZ Stopp park brake is fully mounted on this rear axle with a modified circuit so hill starts are possible, & easy, when using the park brake, if necessary.
New KYB shocks on the front & HD Peugeot fitted on the rear

3. Instrumentation, Lighting, Seating, Interior & Other:
Peugeot 505 comfort seats 2 front & 2 back, new seat belts, full digital instrumentation, vacuum gauge, air conditioned, GPS, reversing camera/ lights & bluetooth phone.
Lighting upgrades are extensive with LED used throughout
All upholstery & hood lining new.
New stainless steel exhaust with mufflers, under driver’s seat & rear with dual droop type outlet.
Custom made tow bar wired with 7 pin flat plug.
Appropriate workshop manuals.
Probably heaps more that I can’t remember, but absolutely no expense was spared.
This vehicle is not concourse, but is very nice & comfortable on the road @ freeway speeds. It can stop on a dime in a straight line, with the vehicle balance set up properly by a specialist in this field.

All needed Citroen hub special tools are included. I have loved these Citroens since childhood, always wanted one & when I got this one, someone had ‘agriculturally’ modified it to have MG wheels & other bits & pieces from the 1960’s. Going back to standard wasn’t too practical so I decided to modify it properly with desirable up grades to all safety areas.

Coming on 80, I’m getting too old to properly enjoy what I’ve done, someone else will I’m sure. Could it be you?
